ABOUT ME

Christy Griffith

Wildlife Photographer

My connection to wildlife began long before I ever picked up a camera. Growing up, I was taught to slow down, to observe, and to respect the natural world—not as something to conquer or collect, but as something to listen to. Animals were never just subjects to me; they were individuals moving through lives far larger and older than my own.

When the Wild Allows Itself to Be Seen

Photography became my way of honoring those moments when the wild allows itself to be seen. I am drawn to quiet encounters—early mornings, fading light, the pauses between movement—when animals are simply being what they are, unguarded and unperformed. Whether it’s a young bear learning independence, a raptor mid-hunt, or a bull standing heavy with presence during the rut, I look for the story that exists beyond the obvious.

Presence Over Pursuit

My work is rooted in natural light and patience. I spend long hours waiting, watching, and returning to the same places night after night if needed. I believe the most honest images come not from pursuit, but from presence—when the animal decides the moment, not the photographer. Each photograph I share is an invitation to see wildlife not as spectacle, but as life unfolding. My hope is that these images foster connection, respect, and a deeper appreciation for the wild spaces and creatures that continue on—often unseen—alongside us.
